How Do You Respect A Bully? W/Poll

Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 01:56:25 PM PDT

There's been a lot of talk about respect lately.  Maybe I haven't been paying attention but it seems in the last twenty four hours every pundit and journalist has declared that what Hillary is angling for is some "respect."

What bothers me about this is that it insinuates that she has not been respected by Obama and that somehow Obama owes Clinton something that might be adequate of a show of respect . . .

jumping . . .

I don't know about you, but I find it incredibly annoying when people allow their motives to be completely transparent, as in this case.  Not only does it insult our intelligence but it is also cowardly.

Why can't they just come out say what they want you ask?  Because, it is not HRC's intention to Ask, as usual she understands only one type of politics, strong arm tactics is all she knows and understands.

It is interesting that she is demanding "respect" right now through her surrogates because she seems pretty stingy in terms of her own ability to give Obama respect.

She gave the bare, absolute Bare minimum of recognition to Obama last night, and the pettiness is getting old.  We know she's not happy for him, but Nice people learn how to fake it, nobody likes a sore loser.  I mean, she had herself introduced as 'the next president of the united states' on the same night Obama clinched this historic nomination!  That was pretty childish in my opinion.  Again, nobody likes a sore loser.

Equally ridiculous is the idea that Obama isn't respecting Senator Clinton enough.  Since he's been in the lead for months now he's actually had the privilege of being able to be Very respectful and conciliatory towards Clinton.  The leader, the winner always has that privilege.

Now let's get to the most fantastic aspect of this charade, which gives a whole new angle to this talk about 'respect.'

Think about these very real traits of HRC:

-she doesn't apologize,
-never admits when she is wrong,
-doesn't own up to her own mistakes,
-points the finger of blame at anyone and everything she can
-would rather make an excuse even if it is obviously delusional because she is so prideful. To me this means she would rather be perceived as crazy then admit she is sorry for anything, which is pretty crazy!
-embraces and is quite adept in division politics, sees it as a necessary and useful tool.

And What about Obama? Let's reflect on some of the principles behind Obama's core message, what his campaign is about:

-he wants to be the impetus, the catalyst that will allow Americans to push past the divisions others in power have put between us so that we can come together to find real solutions to the problems that we all face.
-he seeks to inspire and encourage compassion, understanding and most importantly, dialogue between vastly different groups of Americans in order to bring about the compromises that will have to be made for broad societal changes.
-He wants to stop this inane posturing on the world stage that is only making us weaker and he wants to talk to other world leaders on a sane and rational level once again.
-He wants to engage in a type of politics centered around problemsolving, not political points winning.
-He doesn't want to get into the White House, he wants to go to the White House and get a Lot Done!

There's been this talk in the last few weeks about how 'maybe Hillary is trying to somehow sabotage Obama in this election cycle so that she can run in 2012.'

Well, I never really bought that, until now.

It strikes me as strange that HRC is attempting to Bully Obama into letting her give herself the VP slot.
First, I find it strange because Clinton has No Right to bully Obama, she didn't win, she came close but she did. not. win.

Second, I find it strange because I can't believe that HRC wants the job at all.  I don't know her personally, I'm no shrink, but I think she's the type of woman that does NOT like playing second fiddle, and there's nothing wrong with that.

But, mostly I find it strange because I can't imagine a more perfect way to sabotage Obama's campaign than to render his Entire Message obsolete by putting HRC on the ticket.

Respect is just a code word for VP.

And, she's not asking for it, she's demanding it.

And, in my opinion, she's demanding it so that she can ensure an Obama loss from the inside and try again in 2012.

I strongly believe this is the case after reviewing all the evidence.

The one question I have for HRC is, if you succeed how many soldiers will die in Iraq in the next four years?  Have you even attempted to calculate the number to weigh the pros and cons of sabotaging Obama?  How many will be disabled permanently?  Are these numbers figured into your calculations at all?  How can we, the American people, support you in your quest to obtain power at any cost, including the cost of our own lives?  How could we trust you to be a heartbeat away from the presidency when you're so willing to sacrifice untold amounts of Americans to your cause?
